What we do

We work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and communities across Tasmania to provide legal support that is respectful, culturally safe, and truly supportive.

TALS has lawyers on call 24/7 to provide urgent legal advice to people in police custody.

If you are in police custody, please advise police as soon as possible that you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and ask to speak to TALS.

  • We provide a dedicated holistic service for family violence and sexual assault victims and survivors.

    It is called SiS Tasmania or SiS (Support, Information, Strength)
